about

Drone ambient, minimal sound structures, subtle sound artefacts, relaxing yet cinematic release of the Italian musician Pietro Bonanno.
Born to Palermo in 1984, Pietro has made academic studies to the conservatory (piano, composition and electronic music) and to the university (of philosophy) and in these years he approached the "drone" genre, falling in love by the majestic of "deep atmospheres" of Steve Roach, Robert Rich, Vidna Obmana, Oophoi, Jeff Greinke and Stars Of The Lid.
After he has published three solo piano albums (with clear estonian infuences like Arvo Part) he got into "drones" and published "Ghiaccio" and "Instancabile Silenzio" both in 2007. These are the first self-releases in which Pietro Bonanno experiments the world of the electronics in oniric way.
"Music For Flying Planes" is a step forward, intense yet relaxing and deep release. The album was finished at the end of 2007 - it is mastered and released at "Essentia Mundi" label in March 2008.
